TrueGas™ Transformer Gas Analyzers

Data Sheet (Adobe PDF format)

Improve grid reliability by continuously monitoring eight transformer gases on-line.

TrueGas™ Transformer Gas Analyzers give you decision-making data on-line, on-site, on time. TrueGas Transformer Gas Analyzers are on-line gas chromatographs with built-in computer processing and remote data communications — the first such field-proven instruments. TrueGas analyzers continuously sample, measure, and display the concentration of eight transformer fault-indicating gases:

• acetylene (C2H2)

• methane (CH4)

• ethane (C2H6) • hydrogen (H2)
• oxygen (O2) • ethylene (C2H4)

• carbon monoxide (CO)

• carbon dioxide (C02)

TGSYSDIAG

The TrueGas analyzer has built-in computer processing and data communications to transfer the results in numerical and graphical form to any remote site for display. With this instrument, you can remotely monitor concentration levels of all eight transformer fault gases in parts per million vs. time, store the data for historical trending, and receive alarm signals when a fault condition exists.

Key Benefits
dot

Minimize unplanned outage risks of heavily loaded and aging transformers. Continuously monitor the condition of transformers with respect to gas-creating events as a function of load and temperature. Record the actual level of gases generated when the transformer is stressed by loading, environmental changes, or other conditions.

dot

Maximize revenue. Safely and efficiently load transformers using remotely monitored data. Optimize transformer performance by understanding the correlation between actual monitored gases generated and load conditions.

dot Improve maintenance program efficiency. Allocate maintenance resources where they are actually needed based on monitored condition information.
